The tree was aged from the weather and was scraggly from lack of care. Sitting on a low hanging branch, was a purple owl.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy are you purple?\u201d I asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cNever mind that,\u201d The owl retorted. \u201cI\u2019ve got something more important to tell you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s that?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWebsites are conversations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conversations?<\/h3>\n

I was in a hurry and didn\u2019t have time to talk then, and so I invited the owl over to my caf\u00e9. He arrived the following Tuesday. I brought a couple of tall lattes over to our table and he explained what he meant.<\/p>\n

To be concise, as I know your time is limited, the owl told me that:<\/p>\n

  1. The key to a successful website is intimacy.<\/li>\n
  2. The most successful websites do more listening than they do talking.<\/li>\n
  3. Non verbal communication is often more important than what is explicitly said.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
